What should I know about my massage appointment?
Heidi is a Nationally and Hawaii State Licensed Massage Therapist. She begins by asking some general questions regarding your health, lifestyle, medications, and special needs. It’s important, to be honest with your information as it will help her design a massage that best fits your needs.
You can choose to have your massage in the comfort of your home. Your massage will take place on a table designed especially for stability and comfort. Pillows and cushions are used to support your body.
Most massage/body work techniques are traditionally performed without clothing however you decide what is most comfortable for you. You will undress privately, get comfortable on the massage table, and cover yourself with a sheet. You will be properly draped at all times with only the area being worked on exposed.
During the massage you will never be touched on or near your private areas. The massage usually begins with a light, steady touch, moving into broad, flowing strokes which will help calm your nervous system and relax muscle tension. As your body becomes more relaxed, the pressure is increased to relax specific areas and relieve deeper tension. Heidi will tailor your massage based on therapeutic needs and personal preferences.
Feel free to ask questions about techniques or products being used. It’s your massage and you should feel relaxed and comfortable.
The therapeutic benefit of massage is a crucial element in improving overall health and quality of life.
Heidi can guide you in creating your own unique wellness program. She will design a comprehensive therapeutic massage program for you. This kind of customized plan will positively benefit your specific wellness needs and goals.
